Our Notting Hill Carnival Tips
Meeting Point – Make sure you arrange a specific meeting place rather than spending all your time looking for your friends in the crowds. Furthermore, it is also a good idea should you lose your friends.
Footwear – You will most definitely be standing the majority of your time at the Carnival so we advise you to wear comfortable shoes, certainly not open toe shoes, preferably trainers but not your best ones as your feet are likely to get trampled on and your shoes will become dirty.
Stay Hydrated & Protected from the Sun – It is important to stay hydrated! In addition, if the weather continues to be this great, it is ideal to pack sunscreen! Why not keep up to date with the weather updates on London BBC Weather.
Stay Safe – Major events such as Notting Hill Carnival can get very busy and at times, rough where there are loads of intoxicated people. There’s absolutely nothing to worry about as there will be plenty of police around the event, just make sure you are aware of your surroundings!
Cash – It is a good idea to bring an alternative to using your card as there will be several food and drink stalls that only take cash.
Family Days – If you are planning to attend carnival with family and children, it is advisable to go on Sunday as this is known as the ‘family day’ of Notting Hill Carnival. Family Day is a lot quieter and better to roam around the carnival with children.
