Urban Stay’s Co-Founder James Swift Speaking at the Serviced Apartment Summit London
“New Kids On The Block” PanelÂ
This year’s Serviced Apartment Summit Europe 2016 held at the Park Plaza hotel near Victoria Station in Central London last week. As a rather new company we at Urban Stay were very pleased to be invited to join the “New Kids On The Block” panel session. Our Co-Founder James Swift took the opportunity to personally share his experience and background in the serviced apartment industry in London.
The session focused on new companies entering the UK market. The panel thus comprised of future leaders to discuss how they broke into the industry and the challenges they’ve faced. It was hosted by Jo Layton from The Apartment Service who lead the panel. Questions included ‘How did you start your cmpany?’, ‘What tricks of the trade have you learned?’ and ‘Do you have any advice for future business owners along the way?’.
James discussed his role in founding Urban Stay as Director of Sales and Operations and his long-standing experience in the London corporate serviced accommodation industry. Urban Stay started about two years ago with just two serviced apartments at Liverpool Street in The City of London. We have since rapidly grown to now offer 33 serviced apartments between Liverpool Street, Shoreditch, Monument, and Notting Hill. We further  plan to expand this year. It was a very fun panel to be a part of. We certainly enjoyed the vivid interaction and excellent questions from the audience!
The Serviced Apartment Summit Europe was an excellent networking event with familiar faces in the industry, and many new ones as well. Urban Stay will be attending next year as this is certainly a conference to keep on the calendar moving forward!
